Project Shalom

"Project Shalom" is a ministry of the Malagasy Lutheran Church in partnership with the Norwegian Lutheran Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The focus of "Project Shalom" is Christian-Muslim relations. Already there is a thriving medical mission which, in some areas, benefits large numbers of Muslim people.

When we reach Madagascar (and learn the Malagasy language) we will be privileged to work with building bridges between Christians and Muslims there. Specifically, Doug will be teaching Christians in seminaries, hospitals and congregations about Islam and their Muslim neighbors. Likewise we will work together to be friends with many Muslims there and teach them about their Christian neighbors. Through mutual understanding we will work to nurture peaceful relations and give Muslims a clearer vision of the living Christ among us.
